Last night at Zinc, our tribute to WILLIE BOBO, led by master timbale player WILLIE MARTINEZ and his quarteto, was a rare and special presentation. Willie didn't just pay tribute to his musical hero, he channeled Willie Bobo. The music was sublime, and at the same time that the band was grooving. Each member was squarely in the pocket! Willie presented a virtual symposium on the legacy and cultural importance of Willie Bobo's music. And, on top of everything else, Willie had the entire audience singing along to "Fried Neck Bones and Some Home Fries!" It was a night to remember. Thanks to everyone who was there for being part of this scene we call Dangerous Rhythms.

Always a true pleasure witnessing when two players know each others' every move... these guys killed it!
