The Yunior Terry Sexteto wowed the Zinc audience with an absolutely scintillating performance from the very start of their two sets. Predominantly a "straight-ahead" jazz set compositionally, the addition of Felipe Fournier on vibes (also congas) gave the sound an amazingly lush layer. The band played with deft skill and was clearly enjoying themselves in the process. Pianist Luis Perdomo played with incredible technique and passion, and the rhythm section of Terry on Bass, drummer Maurico Zottarelli and Fournier on congas were tremendous. Saxophone veteran Joe Ford's addition for the evening rounded out a beautiful and powerful brass section. Top-notch talent throughout the bandstand... absolutely lights out!!
