ZACCAI CURTIS QUARTET 06.28.18
PERSONNEL
Piano: Zaccai Curtis
Timbales: Willie Martinez
Congas: Reinaldo De Jesus
Bass: Ricky Rodriquez
Billed as a Tribute to Noro Morales, the Zaccai Curtis Quartet played two tremendous sets of tunes with deft skill. A portion of the material was described as "an experiment", in that a few jazz standards were played in Latin jazz time, which was extremely well-received by the audience. The four piece band sounded full and complemented each other incredibly well, particularly the drummers Willie Martinez and Reinaldo De Jesus. These two were having a blast all evening. This band cooked from beginning to end.
